A nonsensical "shout-out" or interjection used by children and teenagers, often accompanied by a specific hand gesture, that serves as an inside joke for their generation.

The term 6 7 (pronounced "six seven") is a viral meme that originated from a 2024 drill rap song called Doot Doot (6 7) by the artist Skrilla. While the original lyric likely referred to a street or a police code, it became a massive trend when paired with videos of basketball player LaMelo Ball, who happens to be 6ft 7in tall. From there, it evolved into "brain rot" slang that is intentionally meaningless. It is often performed with an "emote" (a repetitive movement) where the person moves their upturned palms up and down alternately. Its primary function today is social bonding; by saying it, a child signals they are "in" on the joke, while simultaneously confusing or annoying adults. It is frequently shouted at random or used as a response to any question where the answer is unknown, making it a playful tool for disruption in classrooms and at home.
