A derogatory term used to describe something that is mediocre, average, or uninspiring.

Mid is a particularly cutting insult because it doesn't mean something is "bad," it means it is boringly average. It is used to "take down" things that are being heavily hyped. If a new film comes out and everyone says it's amazing, a teenager might call it mid to show they are unimpressed. It suggests that the subject lacks the "wow factor" and isn't worth the attention it’s getting.
