Short for suspicious, describing someone or something that seems dishonest, shady, or "off."

Popularised by the game Among Us, where players must find a "sus" imposter, this word has entered daily speech. It is used for anything that feels untrustworthy. If your child thinks a text message is a scam, they’ll call it sus. It can also be used to describe someone who is acting strangely or hiding their true intentions. It’s a quick way to flag that something doesn't pass the "sniff test."
