Someone who shows excessive attention or submission to a romantic interest who may not return the feeling.

This word is usually used to tease boys who are perceived as being "too nice" or "too desperate" for a girl's attention. A simp might buy expensive gifts for someone they aren't even dating or constantly "like" every photo they post. While it can be used for harmless teasing, it sometimes discourages genuine kindness by labelling it as "weakness" in the dating world.
