Skull / πŸ’€ definition: what "Skull / πŸ’€" means and examples

February 13, 2026

A digital symbol or verbal cue used to express that something is so funny or embarrassing that the person has "died."

The skull emoji has effectively killed the "laughing crying" emoji. If a teenager sends you this, they aren't threatening you; they are simply saying that something was so hilarious or "cringe" that they are figuratively dead.

Examples:

  1. "He tripped over his own feet in front of his crush πŸ’€."
  2. "I just saw my old school photo, skull."
  3. "That joke was actually hilarious πŸ’€."

We've compiled this dictionary of common teen slang to help parents communicate with their kids. SafetyMode is the world's most advanced parental safety app for phones, making any Android phone safe for kids. You can find out more and download the app just here.
