Originating from ballroom culture and the LGBTQ+ community, to "slay" means to perform exceptionally well or to look incredible. It is a high-energy compliment. If your daughter walks downstairs in a nice outfit, saying "you slay" is a way of saying she looks amazing. It is about confidence, style, and "killing it" in whatever task is at hand.
