GYAT definition: what "GYAT" means and examples

February 9, 2026

A slang exclamation used to express shock or amazement, typically regarding someone's physical appearance.

Originally a shortened way of saying "God Damn," it is now shouted (or typed in all caps) when someone sees someone with a very curvy or impressive physique. It has become a massive meme on TikTok. While it can be a compliment, it is often used in a slightly objectifying or "loud" way that might catch a parent's ear as being a bit rowdy.

Examples:

  1. "The comments section was just people typing GYAT over and over."
  2. "He shouted GYAT when that character appeared on the screen."
  3. "Stop saying GYAT, it’s actually quite embarrassing in public."
