Yeet definition: what "Yeet" means and examples

February 9, 2026

An exclamation used when throwing something with force or discarding something quickly.

Yeet is both a verb and an interjection. It’s the sound of power and speed. If you throw a ball as hard as you can, you "yeet" it. It can also mean to "get rid of" something or someone. (e.g., "He yeeted himself out of the group chat.") It’s a very energetic, somewhat chaotic word that carries a sense of "don't care" attitude.

Examples:

  1. "He just yeeted his empty water bottle into the bin from across the room."
  2. "I’m going to yeet these old shoes, they’re falling apart."
  3. "Yeet! Look how far that went!"
